INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY

SCHS' troupe 1826 participates each year in the One-Act competition first held at the district 11 level. Students also compete in the individual events competition held second semester. Please see the bottom of this page for more information about the rules for each event.
STATE FESTIVAL
In the late spring, those students who successfully compete in either the one-act competition and/or the individual event competitions are eligible to go to the state festival held in Tampa. The festival is a 4 day event filled with performances, classes taught by theatre professionals, scholarship auditions and much more. Over 6,000 students from the state attend the festival each year. INDIVIDUAL EVENTS 2012
You may prepare for 2012 by using the information below.

The registration fee for IEs is $25.00.
You may compete in up to 3 of the following categories ***:
*** Be sure to determine whether your piece needs an asterisk for any of the following reasons:
L - for adult language
S - for sexual situations
D - for frank talk of death
SA - for substance abuse
V - for violence
R - for religious commentary
P - for works related to prejudice or intolerance
*** Those competing with monologues or scenes must purchase or borrow a copy of the play in which the monologue/scene appears.
*** All performers must know the title, author (composer and lyricist) and publisher of their play or musical
